MENLO PARK, Calif., Mar. 15, 2000 - The PKI Forum, an industry-led collaboration created to accelerate the adoption of Public-Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology and PKI-based solutions as the trusted foundation for secure e-business applications, today announced its executive board.

Executive Board:

Michael Baum, Vice President Practices & External Affairs, VeriSign, Inc.
Shanen Boettcher, Product Manager Windows 2000 Security, Microsoft Corp.
Derek Brink, Sr. Product marketing Manager, RSA Security, Inc.
Steve Kruse, Chief Evangelist, Baltimore Technologies
Steve Lloyd, Senior Consultant Advanced Security Technology, Entrust Technologies
Patrick Richard, Chief Technology Officer, Xcert International, Inc.
John Sabo, Manager Security Strategy & Business Development, IBM/Tivoli

Last week, during the inaugural members meeting (see "PKI Forum Holds Inaugural Members Meeting", also released today) the executive board was expanded to include two additional seats filled via election.  Michael Baum, of VeriSign, and Patrick Richard, of Xcert International, were elected to the board by the forum's members.  Following the board election, the new board elected John Sabo of  IBM/Tivoli to chair the board.

"These new board appointments mark the beginning of the next stage for the PKI Forum," said John Sabo, the newly elected chair of the executive board.  "In the past the activities of the forum have been driven by the five founding members. We now have over 50 members and are poised to tackle our main objective - the accelerated deployment of PKI."
